Online roulette
And yet it spins… What are we talking about? About roulette, of course.. Roulette is undoubtedly one of the oldest and still the most popular gambling game in the world. We are not afraid to say that almost everyone is familiar with this classic.
The basis of the game is a small rotating wheel with numbered pockets of black, red and green color, which is located inside the larger stationary wheel. Another essential part of the game is an índispensable roulette ball, chips and layout of the cloth-covered betting area. Then all you need to start the game are just equally enthusiastic rivals and a croupier. But this is not the case with online roulette, which you can play anywhere you want. Unlike real casinos, online casinos bring the experience to your home or wherever you have the internet connection. There’s nothing easier than connecting and getting into the game.
What is the difference between the classic and online roulette?
Are you wondering what is the difference between classic live roulette and online roulette? Almost next to nothing … Of course, the most important difference is that you play live roulette in a brick and mortar casino with rivals and croupiers, while online roulette can be played from the comfort of your home over the internet. But the basic rules and payout ratios are the same in both cases.
The speed of the game might be the biggest and most thrilling distinction. After all, with the live roulette, it takes time for all players to place their bets or for the dealer to pay the winnings. A ball bouncing in a spinning wheel takes some time as well. With online roulette, everything is much shorter and faster, even turning the wheel can be accelerated with turbo spin.
You would probably enjoy the unique live experience with your rivals at the same table, but if you prefer a rather laidback game, online roulette is the right choice for you. However, if you do not want to be deprived of the excitement of the game, online casinos will gladly mediate you an unforgettable game at home. Thanks to them and their cameras positioned around the casino you can enjoy live roulette with live croupiers just using the internet.
The indisputable advantage of online roulette is definitely the possibility to get interesting bonuses or take advantage of promotions. Let’s face it: who wouldn’t want some extra reward, right? In a classic brick and mortar roulette you would never get such treatment.
Let’s peek into a roulette history
Information about the beginnings of a roulette varies considerably, but the most common and probable version is that it was created by the great French mathematician and physicist Blaise Pascal in the 18th century. The goal was certainly not to create a gambling game, but he was so fascinated by the idea of creating a perpetual motion machine that the roulette wheel was originally supposed to be a random number generator. Other sources mention that people played roulette for the first time in Paris in 1796 and around 1850 it spread to various corners of Europe.
French brothers Francois and Louis Blanc wanted to make the game even more interesting and added the 37th pocket with the number 0 to the roulette wheel. The United States, of course, did not want to be ashamed and added the 38th pocket with 00 marking. That’s why we know 2 versions of roulette today: Single zero French/European style roulette and Double zero American style roulette.
European Roulette offers 37 numbers (from 1 to 36 are marked in black or red, 0 is green).
American Roulette offers 38 numbers (from 1 to 36 are marked in black or red, 0 and 00 are green).
Basic rules of roulette
The main principle of the game is that players try to guess the number on which the roulette ball will stop. When prompted by the dealer, they place their bets – chips – on the canvas. Each player can place them on any number or group of numbers in respect with minimum and maximum bet limits. The dealer then spins the wheel and throws the ball in. Sometimes it is possible to keep placing bets during the spin until the dealer calls that bets have ended. After the ball hits the winning pocket = number / color, winning bets are paid and the rest collected from the layout.
U onlinWith online roulette, the course of the game is exactly the same, only through the monitor and without any rivals or dealers. You bet on a number or group of numbers and wait for the ball to stop.
